As you fly over Kodiak beside it beauty you notice it’s rolling hills and mountainous terrain look just a stroll threw the park. But once your down on the ground and find out there are alders as tall as single story houses that you have to weave in and out of to find the game trails that head up to the higher elevation benches. The higher up you get the more it opens up and offers for some great glassing opportunities. This terrain produces some of the biggest bucks.
There are other area’s that are more moderate with rolling grassy hillsides offering easier access for the hunter that want’s to hunt Kodiak but does not want to feel like there walking to the other side of the world.
No matter if your the hunters that want to hike to the top of the highest, steepest mountain that Kodiak has to offer. Or for the hunters that want to hunt the beaches or rolling hills. Kodiak Island has given many hunters there trophy black-tail in all of those area’s.
Have you ever heard the saying ” if you don’t like the weather close your eyes and it will change”. Well it don’t change that quick but it could be calm and sunny with mild 50 degree temperatures right now and tomorrow it could be down right nasty with winds and driving rain.
Weather plays a very important part on our hunts. Because our vessels serve as the base camp, it is important that safety is top priority. When the weather get nasty you want a place to feel safe and warm both of our vessels will do just that. We can’t control the weather but we will do what we can to cope with it.
